Rapid-Pi: Volume Licensing

Overview

Volume licenses are available for organizations that need to install Rapid-Pi on more than 3 computers (provided for by the Home / Small Office License).

Volume licenses are issued in Volume License Units. Each License Unit allows the purchaser to either:

  • Install Rapid-Pi on any single computer belonging to the purchaser for use by anyone
      or
  • Install Rapid-Pi on up to 3 computers (including home and/or work computers) for use by a single employee of the purchaser
Please note that the choice above can be made for each License Unit. The purchaser can allocate some License Units on the per-computer basis and some on the per-user basis, in order to get the maximum value from the license.

A 30% academic discount is available for educational and research organizations (eg. schools, universities / colleges, research institutes, etc).

Please note that exactly the same, full version of Rapid-Pi is provided for all license types.
Examples

Example 1: Acme Engineering Corp employs 5 part-time engineers, only 3 of whom are working on any given day. Acme Engineering purchases a Rapid-Pi Volume License for 3 License Units and allocates all of them on the per-computer basis, installing Rapid-Pi on 3 computers in the office. All 5 engineers are able to use Rapid-Pi on the 3 computers.

Example 2: Moretown High School has 7 math and physics teachers. Each has a desktop computer at the school, a laptop, and another computer at home. The teachers often write exams and tests at home and on their laptops and so would like to have Rapid-Pi on all of their computers. Moretown High School purchases a Rapid-Pi Volume License for 7 License Units and allocates all of them on the per-user basis, one for each teacher. Each teacher can install and use Rapid-Pi on their school computer, their laptop and their home computer. As an educational institution, the school receives the 30% academic discount on its purchase.
