Rapid-Pi License Conditions

Overview

This page sets out the terms and conditions for each type of Rapid-Pi license. The page also describes the eligibility criteria for discounts.

License Conditions

Student License:

  1. The licensee may install and use Rapid-Pi on 1 (one) computer.
  2. The licensee must satisfy the eligibility requirements for Student Licenses (see below) at the time the license is acquired.
  3. The Student License is permanent and shall continue indefinitely unless terminated in accordance with the End-User License Agreement.

Home / Small Office License:

  1. The licensee may install Rapid-Pi on up to 3 (three) eligible computers for use by anyone.
  2. If the licensee is a private individual, an eligible computer is one which is used primarily by the licensee or a member of the licensee's household (including home and/or work computers).
  3. If the licensee is a business or an organization, an eligible computer is one which is used primarily by the licensee or an employee of the licensee (including home and/or work computers).
  4. The Home / Small Office License is permanent and shall continue indefinitely unless terminated in accordance with the End-User License Agreement.

Volume License:

  1. For each Volume License Unit ("License Unit") in the Volume License, the licensee may either:
    1. Install Rapid-Pi on 1 (one) eligible computer for use any anyone;  or
    2. Install Rapid-Pi on up to 3 (three) eligible computers for use by a single eligible user
  2. An eligible computer is one which is primarily used by the licensee or an employee of the licensee (including home and/or work computers).
  3. An eligible user is a person who is an employee of the licensee.
  4. The Volume License is permanent and shall continue indefinitely unless terminated in accordance with the End-User License Agreement.

NOTE: If Option B is selected for a particular License Unit, only the eligible user to whom the licensee has allocated that License Unit may use Rapid-Pi under that License Unit. No other person (including another eligible user) may use Rapid-Pi unless permitted to do so under a different License Unit or a different license. For example, suppose Acme Corp purchases 3 License Units and allocates one of them to Peter, who is an employee of Acme. Peter can install and use Rapid-Pi on up to three computers (including home computers). However, nobody else (including other employees of Acme) may use Rapid-Pi under the License Unit allocated to Peter.

In contrast, Option A does not impose any restrictions on who can use Rapid-Pi on the eligible computer to which the licensee has allocated a particular License Unit.

Promotional License:

  1. The licensee may install and use Rapid-Pi on 1 (one) computer.
  2. The Promotional License is permanent and shall continue indefinitely unless terminated in accordance with the End-User License Agreement.
